Products
We sell handmade wax melts, candles, room and linen sprays, burners and related gifts.
Because many products are handmade, colours, botanicals and decorative details may vary slightly from the photographs. The fragrance and essential product characteristics will remain as described.
Please read all product descriptions, safety information and fragrance details before ordering.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Delivery charges are displayed before checkout.
Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods offered at checkout. We do not store complete payment-card details.
Orders
After placing an order, you will receive an acknowledgement. Your order is accepted when it is confirmed for processing or dispatch.
If a product is unavailable, incorrectly priced or cannot be supplied, we will contact you and provide a full refund for any unavailable item.
Personalised products
Customers are responsible for checking names, wording and other personalisation details before submitting an order.
Personalised and custom-made products cannot usually be changed or cancelled once production has begun.
Delivery
Available delivery options, charges and estimated times are shown at checkout. Unless another timeframe has been agreed, orders will be delivered within 30 days.
Delivery estimates may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control. If there is a significant delay, we will contact you and explain the available options.
Product safety
Always follow the safety instructions supplied with candles, wax melts, burners and room sprays.
Never leave a burning candle or burner unattended. Keep products away from children, pets, draughts and flammable materials. Room and linen sprays must be used according to their label instructions.
Returns and refunds
Cancellation, return and refund rights are explained in the Return and Refund Policy below. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Website content
Product photographs, descriptions, branding and other website content belong to SJ Home Scents or are used with permission. They must not be copied or used commercially without permission.
Liability
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms. We are not responsible for losses caused by misuse of a product or failure to follow its safety instructions.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our products, services or legal obligations change. The version displayed when an order is placed will apply to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Customers elsewhere in the United Kingdom retain any protections and court rights provided by the law where they live.

Cancelling an online order
For most non-personalised products, you may cancel without giving a reason by contacting us within 14 days after receiving your order.
After notifying us, you must return the products within a further 14 days.
You may also request cancellation before dispatch. If an order has already entered production or been dispatched, the normal return conditions will apply.
Returning an item
Please email sjhomescents@outlook.com before returning anything and include your order number.
Products should be returned with their original packaging where reasonably possible. You may inspect products as you would in a shop, but we may reduce a refund if they have been used, burned, sprayed or handled more than necessary.
For a change-of-mind return, you are responsible for the return postage and for ensuring the products reach us safely.
Personalised products
Personalised or custom-made products cannot normally be returned or refunded when the customer simply changes their mind.
This does not affect your rights when an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect products
Please contact us as soon as possible if a product arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect. Include your order number and photographs where possible.
We will arrange an appropriate refund, repair or replacement and cover reasonable return costs where required. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be made to the original payment method.
For change-of-mind cancellations, we will refund the product price and the cost of standard outward delivery. Additional delivery charges selected by the customer are not refundable.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned products or receiving evidence that they have been sent back, where applicable.
